Bryce Davidson has been teaching athletic disciplines for over 10 years. In his 6 years as a breakdancing instructor, he has had the opportunity to teach students of all shapes and sizes ranging from ages 4-47! He has taught classes and workshops for dance studios, elementary and high schools, special events and more. He loves to teach! While teaching is Bryce’s first love, he also loves to perform. He has danced onstage with hip hop legends, Afrika Bambaataa, KRSone, Kurtis Blow, B-boy Crazy Legs, and across the twin cities with The Collective hip hop dance crew. When Bryce isn’t dancing, he is doing caricatures for events and parties, performing improv, and practicing yoga.

Practice with facial structure

As a practice for getting better at caricature art, my friend of friend Tom Nguyen gave me a "homework assignment" to see the T-shapes that appear in the structure of the eyes and nose. (Actually I think this comes from a tutorial by caricature master Tom Richmond). If you look closely you will see a dim red "T" beneath each face. This exercise helps identify the slant of the eyes and the width and length of the nose. I really liked this exercise and have been drawing imaginary "T's" on my friends faces since.

The importance of Protein

Proteins (also known as polypeptides) are organic compounds made ofamino acids arranged in a linear chain and folded into a globular form. The amino acids in a polymer are joined together by the peptide bonds between thecarboxyl and amino groups of adjacent amino acid residues. The sequence of amino acids in a protein is defined by the sequence of a gene, which is encoded in the genetic code.^[1] In general, the genetic code specifies 20 standard amino acids; however, in certain organisms the genetic code can include selenocysteine—and in certain archaea—pyrrolysine. Shortly after or even during synthesis, the residues in a protein are often chemically modified by post-translational modification, which alters the physical and chemical properties, folding, stability, activity, and ultimately, the function of the proteins. Proteins can also work together to achieve a particular function, and they often associate to form stable complexes.^[2]

I have been B-boying/Breaking (commercially known as breakdancing) for 8 years and teaching for 6 years. It is a dance with endless possibilities and a ridiculously awesome way to get in shape!
